The move is done…

…and all is well.  I’ve switched over the URL to point to here, left a message at the old Blogspot.com blog to redirect people, in 2 places in the blog, and imported all the old posts here.   I’ve spent hours trying to redesign this new blog to fit with the clean styles of the old one.  And best yet, I am self-hosted here… meaning that if anything does go wrong with the blog or the server, within reason, I can fix it myself, without having to rely on folks who’d rather just send you to cryptically worded blog posts of theirs, rather than answering a question… I really think this was just to raise their own blog views, to be honest.

But, its done.  Now, I am proud owner of 2 self-hosted wordpress blogs, this, and also recently moved from my wordpress.com blog, Crystal City Fibers blog.

Look around, tell me what you think could use improvement, tell me what you like, share a post with someone if you would like, and remember, comments are always welcome… and they may start a little conversation, too.

Finally, MONKEYS!

I know, I’ve been promising and promising!  But here they are.  They still need the toes grafted, I’ll do that tonight, and put up more pics after…. modeled even?  but now, without further ado…

The Toe to be Grafted

The only note I’ll make for this pattern is that it is most definitely NOT written for 2-at-a-time.  Cookie A. writes grewat patterns, but she is very obviously a DPN sock knitter, and the pattern did not translate easily to magic looping 2 at once.  That having been said, I love the pattern.

Oh, and I should also note that the leg is very snug for me.  as in, I can barely get it on over my heel… but I can, just, and I love the look, so it will survive.  With wear, I hope it will go on a little easier, but really, I’d rather a snug sock than a loose one.

They’re Mine! All Mine!

Really. For once, I Dyed up fibers just for me. I’ll share them, and better yet, I’ll probably even sell them after they are spun. (cause I love the spinning much more than the knitting, really) But for now, they are mine!

Excuse the not great pics, I promise I’ll get better ones before I spin them up. These are the ones I dyed for the Yarn everyday.
