Been Busy!

Boy, Have I Ever been busy! Of course, with a 2 month old, I am busy anyway.  Add now to that a wedding we had to attend out of state a few weeks back, and a week at Lake Waneta with family last week, plus several customs to work on, and I have just not stopped doing something.

Speaking of customs, since I have had so many lately, I decided to start a customs list, so if you are waiting on a custom from me, you can check out where you stand and the progress on your project on the sidebar of the blog here.  I will try to update at least once a week, or as I complete projects.

Now the fun part… you know you have been waiting… Pictures!

I took the opportunity of the week at the lake to practice my photography skills, and got lots of great shots of the kids, the lake, and even a bit of knitting.

Who needs toys?

2 months old already!

The current project on the needles

With that, I’ll try to post again soon!

Still waiting for baby… and some new yarns

Well, we are still here.  Still pregnant.  Still waiting.  We have had a very stressful week, dealing with insurance stuff and midwives.  But all is well, and we are now just waiting for baby to make an appearance.

The first 2 beebas are in rare form, making as much trouble as they can figure out to do.  And each new thing we bring out in prep for the baby, the cosleeper which we will be using as basinet for downstairs, the swing, the baby chairs, even my new carrier that I made last week… they all are apparently crying out to be tested by the big kids.

Beeba 2, at 2 years old, still insists that she is “baby”, and wants desperately to be allowed to ride in the baby swing… pointing out that she is a big kid and can ride in the big kid swings in the backyard and at the park?  nope, that doesn’t distract her in the least bit.

I, in the meantime, sleep less and less with each passing night, making for a grumpier mommy each day.

You know, many people say that the last few weeks of pregnancy are practice for new baby days.  I call fowl on that.  As an avid cosleeping, breastfeeding, babywearing mom, I know full well that when baby is born, I will get FAR more sleep than I am now.  at least after that initial first day or 2 when you just watch the baby sleep in wonder that they have finally arrived.

But, you don’t read this blog just to hear about my pregnancy trials and tribulations.  You want to see some of the new yarn that will be coming to the shop in the near future? I have some pretty stuff…  here goes:

Targhee wool, spun to a DK weight. Mostly blue, with hints of purples running through it. Yummy.

BFL/Silk in a 50/50 blend. Yummy! I am calling this one Cranberry Spice, I think. Reds and Purples all running together in happy harmony. There is over 7 oz here!

100% Alpaca, spun to a heavy worsted weight, dyed by one of my freinds, Amy of CajunFiberCo. I love her colors. She called this colorway "Firstborn" in honor of her daughter. It is very fitting, don't you think?

The link to Amy’s site is here: CajunFiberCo. Seriously, if you love fiber, you should check her out, she has awesome fibers and better colors!

this one is i think a domestic wool, in purple and orange. not my colors, but the yarn came out nice and pretty anyway.

So those are my newest yarns… I hope you enjoyed and will check them out when they hit the shop.

Don’t forget, until the baby is born, you can get up to 25% off with the code Getting Ready!

Getting Closer… and Happy Birthday Pictures

So, yes, we are getting closer to baby day… technically the Due Date is about a week to a week and a half from now… but of course, we all know that babies come when they choose… so we are doing all we can to be ready for this new addition to our family around here.

I made myself a new carrier for the new baby, and have cleaned the house an awful lot… and I am waiting for the new diaper bag to be done that I arranged a trade for with a friend from one of my message boards…

I have also made a bunch of food and frozen it in our downstairs freezer… I won’t be cooking for at least a week after baby is born.

Of course, don’t forget, as baby gets closer, so does the end of my GETTING READY sale.  Don’t miss your chance to save up to 25% on any purchase at my Etsy Shop.

Of course, other things are happening around here too.  Did I mention, my little girl turned 2 yesterday??  Well, she did.  and I have a few pictures to show how she enjoyed herself… and her cake.

Beeba2 got to pick out her own cake at the store, just like her big brother got to a few weeks earlier.  She chose a heart cake with flowers, and the lady at the counter made it extra pretty for her with butterflies and sugar hearts!

Daddy thought we would be getting a picture of the cake... little did he know, the beeba2 would insist on tasting it first...

Ah! Finally, she got a peice of her cake that she was allowed to eat! She ate all the icing first, but really, did not get nearly as messy as expected... she still needed a bath after, though.

Ok, thats enough for now… I need to get back to getting ready.  And don’t worry, after the baby is born, I will post lots of pictures (of baby, not the birth, sorry) and I will tell all about the birth… but for now, I am signing off for the day.

Another Birthday coming soon…

Can you believe it?  My Beeba 2 will be TWO YEARS OLD on next Tuesday!  In honor of her upcoming birthday, (and the new camera that just arrived today) I decided to have fun catching pics of her.

Getting so grown up... even WITH the dry erase marker on her face...

getting ready to play! Chalk on the sidewalk and bubble wrap in hand... ah, childhood...

waiting for our take-out chinese so patiently...

Sorry, I don’t have any Product stuff today, and I don’t have any new yarns to show you… Ok, so I do, but I have no photos of them yet.  I have been working hard to get ready for the new baby (due sometime this month) and that has meant not getting as much work stuff done.

So far, I have gotten my mom’s mothers day gift made (yes, it counts as getting ready, since she will be here for the baby’s due date and I want to give it to her when she gets here), and I have gotten lots of stuff done, washed all the baby clothes, the diapers, etc.  I am even working on making a new baby carrier.  I’m sure I’ll have lots of pictures on Friday of the carrier (a bit of an expirement) and the gift, and hopefully some of the new yarns I have gotten spun up.

In the meantime, don’t forget that I am currently running a great sale in the Etsy Shop.  Use the code GETTING READY from now until I post a birth announcement in the shop announcements, and get UP TO 25% off on anything in the shop!

Thats right, its an incremental sale. The more you buy, the more you save!

Spend $10 and get 5% off.
Spend $20 and get 10% off.
Spend $30 and get 15% off.
Spend $40 and get 20% off.
AND, Spend $50 and get 25% OFF!

Don’t miss this sale!  I don’t run sales for this much off very often.  And there is lots in the shop. The Fine print is that this discount will be refunded through Paypal, and is not valid for shipping costs or for sales tax.

Photo Friday

Hello Photo lovers!

Straight to the photos-

My newest WIP- A pair of footed Longies for the new baby. Obviously not finished yet, but I figure it will only take another couple days to finish, if I get some good knitting time in.

And my Newest FO- The baby blanket I spent the last many months working on. Boy, am I glad it is done!

This is a "Magic Fiber Ball" for a swap on facebook. The Idea comes form magic yarn balls- where you take a ball of yarn and wrap it around a bunch of small surprises for your swap partner. It is fun. In this case, this is Australian Merino dizzed off my drum carder in "Easter Parade".

And just because she is cute (although this is right after a session of Painting herself, and I'm not sure I got all the paint off her)... my little Beeba 2, who will turn 2 in a few weeks.
